The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has raised the price of autogas used in vehicles to Tk91.95 per litre for November, up from Tk84.62 in October.
The new rate came into effect at 8PM on Monday (November 2), according to a BERC notification.
The commission also raised the price of privately supplied liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), fixing the price of a 12kg cylinder at Tk2,060, up Tk223 from Tk1,837 in October.
BERC set the price of private LPG at Tk171.68 per kg. It said the adjustment followed an increase in Saudi Aramco’s November contract prices for propane and butane.
Saudi Aramco set the November price of propane at $720 per tonne and butane at $780 per tonne. Based on a 35:65 propane-butane mix, the average Saudi Contract Price stood at $759 per tonne.
The commission also considered a shipping cost and trader premium of $250 per tonne and an exchange rate of Tk123.46 per US dollar in setting the new rates.
The price of government-supplied LPG has also been revised, with a 12.5kg cylinder set at Tk1,860.
