Miscreants set fire to parked bus in Narayanganj garage

Unidentified miscreants set fire to a parked passenger bus in the Fatullah area of Narayanganj late Monday night (November 2).

The incident occurred inside the Alif Garage, located near Fatullah Stadium along the Dhaka-Narayanganj Link Road, where the Anand Paribahan bus was parked overnight.

According to local witnesses, the perpetrators torched the bus and fled the scene. Garage workers, including staff member Sani, responded quickly and managed to extinguish the flames within 10 to 12 minutes. The fire destroyed approximately 15 to 20 seats inside the vehicle. No casualties were reported.

Narayanganj District Superintendent of Police (SP) Habibur Rahman confirmed the arson attack, noting that a similar incident involving a bus from the same transportation operator had taken place a few months earlier.

"We are investigating whether this was a planned act of sabotage. Strict legal action will be taken against those involved," SP Habibur Rahman stated.
