Pop star Britney Spears has accused her family members of harassment and treating her like a slave.

Recently, she shared a still from the film 'Uptown Girls' on her Instagram, accompanied by a lengthy post. In it, she detailed the mistreatment she endured at the hands of her family and expressed her intention to find a new family for herself.

Britney wrote, "I will find a new family!!! Jamie Lynn never let me hold Ivy [sic] one time when I would visit in Louisiana during COVID in two week trips and Kevin wouldn’t let me use the bathroom when I would pick my children up in their house!!!”

She added, "They made me feel like a slave and have all their secret things they did behind my back and all I ever did was work for my dad. I am going to find a new family!!!"

Previously, Britney had also expressed frustration regarding a recent outing. She alleged that she was deliberately kept waiting while photographers prepared to take pictures. Describing the moment she was taken outside, she termed the entire incident a "major, orchestrated setup."

In that same post, Britney sarcastically thanked those around her, while also voicing her dissatisfaction regarding her food and security. She wrote, "Every single day, every single moment, try to truly understand what loving people we all are, in a country where, supposedly, no one ever conspires against humanity."

Despite being a famous pop star in her prime, Britney Spears was no stranger to messy familial relationships. Controversially, she was in a conservatorship for 13 years by her father, where she lost custody of her two sons and her father took over most of her earnings, and ended in November 2021. The legal case would go on to serve as a precedent to combat against this kind of abuse on a state and federal level; the revelation of her abuse and mistreatment would even lead to a reevaluation of media coverage and depiction of Britney Spears and her legacy, which lead to her widely publicized breakdown.
