Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal Central General Secretary Mohammad Nurul Islam Nayan has accused members of a banned organisation of instigating garment workers to destabilise the country's garment sector and divert labour protests to create difficulties for the government.

He made the remarks while responding to questions from journalists at Joydebpur Chowrasta in Gazipur city on Tuesday afternoon.

Nayan alleged that a clandestine banned organisation was provoking workers to create instability in the garment sector as part of an attempt to undermine the government.

"Roads are being blocked, traffic congestion is being created and people's movement is being disrupted. Jubo Dal is assisting the police and law enforcement agencies to ensure that people can move freely," he said.

Referring to incidents of vandalism and arson involving police vehicles in the name of workers, he questioned whether garment workers genuinely engaged in such activities.

"Workers who sit in front of sewing machines every day to earn their livelihoods cannot destroy garment factories. Workers cannot set fire to police vehicles belonging to those who ensure our security," he said.

He further alleged that domestic and foreign conspiracies were underway, with banned organisations exploiting workers' grievances to put the government in an embarrassing position.

The Jubo Dal leader claimed that a group was taking advantage of workers' legitimate demands to create instability in industrial areas, disrupting factory production and the normal lives of ordinary people.

Gazipur City Corporation Administrator and Gazipur Metropolitan BNP Convener Shawkat Hossain Sarkar, along with a large number of Jubo Dal leaders and activists, were present at the time.
