Taijul, Miraz slip in latest ICC rankings

Bangladesh spinners Taijul Islam and Mehidy Hasan Miraz have suffered drops in the latest ICC rankings following their poor performance in the opening Test against West Indies, which the side lost by eight wickets.

Taijul slipped three places to 21st, while Miraz dropped two positions to 24th in the latest Test bowling rankings.

Bangladesh are also worried about the form of the two leading spinners as they are set to face off West Indies in the second and final Test today (Thursday) in Sylhet in a bid to avoid a series whitewash.

Australia's fast bowler Mitchell Starc moved past South Africa's Marco Jansen to return to the summit after a brilliant nine-wicket haul in the third and final Test against South Africa in Cape Town.

Starc had first reached the top of the Test bowling rankings in August before Jansen took over the position following his six-wicket haul in the second Test against Australia.

However, Jansen managed just three wickets in the Cape Town Test, allowing Starc to reclaim the number-one spot.
Following West Indies' victory over Bangladesh in the Mirpur Test, Justin Greaves advanced 12 places to share 38th position in the Test batting rankings. Left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican climbed six places to 30th among bowlers, while Roston Chase moved up eight places to share 23rd position in the Test all-rounders' rankings.�"BSS
