Observer Editor Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury taken to DB office for questioning

The Daily Observer Editor and DBC TV Chairman Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury and DBC Senior Reporter Rajib Gosh were taken from the broadcaster’s office in the capital’s Mohakhali area to the Detective Branch (DB) office on Wednesday.

They were kept at the DB office on Mintoo Road, said Akhter Hossain, Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).

“We have brought Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury here. He has been kept at the DB office on Mintoo Road. We have not arrested him. We brought him here to avoid any untoward situation. We are interrogating him,” he said.

DMP Detective Branch Chief Shafiqul Islam also confirmed that Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury had been taken from DBC’s Mohakhali office for questioning. He said Iqbal had not been arrested.
