Missing child found dead in Noakhali

NOAKHALI, Nov 5: The body of a seven-year-old boy was recovered from a pond at his home in Subarnachar Upazila of the district on Wednesday afternoon, a day after he went missing.

The child, Shamim Hossain, son of Harun and a resident of Ward No. 9 in Char Jubilee Union, had been missing since Tuesday afternoon.

After failing to find him, family members searched the area and began draining the pond using a pump on Wednesday morning. 

As the water level dropped, they spotted his body floating in the pond and recovered it.

Officer-in-Charge of Char Jabbar Police Station Rafiqul Hasan confirmed that the child had died by drowning.
