BRAC Bank enables Google Pay for Mastercard credit cardholders

BRAC Bank PLC, in collaboration with Mastercard and Google Pay, has enabled Google Pay for its Mastercard credit cardholders in Bangladesh, allowing them to make fast, secure and convenient contactless payments using compatible Android devices.

The launch marks a significant step towards expanding digital payment options for BRAC Bank's Mastercard cardholders and supporting the growing adoption of secure contactless payments in the country, says a press release.

The launch ceremony was recently held at BRAC Bank's head office in Dhaka. It was attended by Tareq Refat Ullah Khan, managing director and CEO of BRAC Bank; Md Mahiul Islam, deputy managing director and head of retail banking at BRAC Bank; Gautam Aggarwal, division president for India and South Asia at Mastercard; Sandun Hapugoda, country manager for Sri Lanka, Maldives, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal at Mastercard; and Zakia Sultana, country manager for Bangladesh at Mastercard, along with senior representatives from both organisations.

Eligible BRAC Bank Mastercard credit cardholders can now add their cards to the Google Pay app and make contactless payments at participating merchants using their Android smartphones, eliminating the need to carry physical cards for everyday purchases.
