RMG wage board to meet on Nov 9

The Minimum Wage Board will hold its second meeting on November 9 to discuss recommendations for setting minimum wages for workers and employees in the garment industry.

According to a notice issued by the board on Thursday (November 5), the meeting will begin at 11:00am at its office in Segunbagicha, Dhaka.

The meeting will be chaired by board chairman Syed Azad Subhani.

The agenda includes separate written proposals on minimum wage rates from representatives of garment factory owners and workers, as well as discussions on recommendations for wage rates across all categories of employees in the sector.

The board has requested representatives from both sides to attend the meeting and submit their proposals.
