Malaysia has approved 51 medical centres in Bangladesh for health screening of workers seeking employment there, as preparations continue to resume recruitment after a suspension of more than two years.
The Foreign Workers Centralised Management System (FWCMS) published the list on Friday (November 6), including the names and addresses of the authorised centres, mostly located in Dhaka and Gazipur.
The centres have passed the required audits by Malaysian company Bestinet Sdn Bhd. Health screening at an approved centre is mandatory before applying for an Electronic Visa with Reference (e-VDR).
The government has fixed the maximum medical examination fee at Tk 8,000 and warned centres against charging extra fees or harassing jobseekers.
Recruiting agencies have also urged the government to expedite medical approvals to facilitate the resumption of recruitment.
