Man arrested over selling family porn videos

Police have arrested a man in Narsingdi on allegations of producing pornographic videos featuring his wife and other family members and selling them on international pornographic websites.

He was arrested during a raid in the Ghorashal municipal area of Palash upazila on Friday (November 6), following confidential information provided by the National Security Intelligence (NSI).

Shahid Al Mamun, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Palash Police Station, confirmed the arrest.

The arrested Gias Uddin, 40, is the son of Babul Mia of Ghonapara area under Kaliganj Police Station in Gazipur district.

According to police and intelligence sources, Gias Uddin had been renting a house near Islam CNG in Bhagirathpur area under Madhabdi Police Station in Narsingdi for a long time. He allegedly produced nude videos featuring his wife, daughter, sister-in-law and niece.

He subsequently sold the explicit videos to various international pornographic websites in exchange for substantial amounts of money. Intelligence officials also reportedly found evidence of suspicious transactions in his bank accounts.

To evade the attention of law enforcement agencies, the family recently planned to leave Bhagirathpur in Madhabdi and relocate to the Paiksa area of Ghorashal municipality in Palash upazila.

They subsequently moved into a newly constructed building owned by a man named Manzur Morshed Liton in Paiksa.

After receiving confidential information, an NSI team began monitoring the vehicle transporting the family's belongings. Police from Palash Police Station subsequently conducted a swift operation and arrested Gias Uddin, the alleged mastermind of the operation.

OC Shahid Al Mamun said various pieces of evidence related to pornography had been recovered from the house.

He added that if anyone else is found to be involved, they will also be brought to justice. Legal proceedings in connection with the incident are underway.
