The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecasted potential rainfall in several regions of the country alongside a slight fall in temperatures over the coming days, influenced by a seasonal low-pressure system.
According to a weather bulletin issued by the BMD on Saturday (November 7), the weather across the country is expected to remain mainly dry with temporarily partly cloudy skies until 9:00AM on Sunday, while day and night temperatures will remain largely unchanged.
However, precipitation is expected to commence from Sunday (November 8) morning, with rain or thundershowers likely to occur at one or two places over the Chittagong division during the subsequent 24 hours. Weather across the rest of the country is expected to remain dry with partly cloudy skies, accompanied by a slight rise in day and night temperatures.
Rainfall activity is expected to expand between 9:00AM on November 9 and 9:00AM on November 10, with rain or thundershowers likely at a few places in Chittagong division and at one or two places across Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, and Barisal divisions. Night temperatures may drop slightly nationwide during this period while day temperatures remain stable.
Between November 10 and November 11, rain or thundershowers are forecasted for a few places in Barisal and Chittagong divisions and one or two places in Dhaka, Khulna, and Sylhet divisions. Day temperatures are expected to fall slightly across the country during this timeframe.
Similar weather patterns featuring scattered rain across six divisions are predicted to persist through November 12.
The Met Office added that overall rainfall activity is likely to decrease over the subsequent five days, accompanied by a further reduction in night temperatures as winter approaches.
