Blind Cricket Asia Cup 2026 to be held at ABG Sports City

Bangladesh will host the Cricket for the Blind Asia Cup 2026 for the first time, with ABG Sports City serving as the venue partner for the international tournament.

All matches of the six-day competition will be held at Anvir Cricket Stadium at ABG Sports City from November 15 to 20.

Five Asian countries — Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan — will compete in the tournament.

Safwan Bashundhara Global (SBG) is the title sponsor, while T Sports, the country’s only sports-based television channel, is the media partner.

ABG Sports City has previously hosted international cricket events at Anvir Cricket Stadium. Recently, a two-day preparatory match involving the Bangladesh and West Indies national cricket teams was held at the venue. The Malaysia cricket team also played there earlier.

The Asia Cup will be organised by the Bangladesh Blind Cricket Council (BBCC), affiliated with World Blind Cricket Limited (WBC).

The tournament is expected to further establish ABG Sports City as a venue for international sporting events while showcasing its facilities and capacity to host international competitions.

Title sponsor Safwan Bashundhara Global expressed its satisfaction at being associated with the event, saying such initiatives are important for creating opportunities for visually impaired cricketers to demonstrate their talent and abilities at the international level.

The organisers aim to promote friendship, inclusion and equality through sports while providing visually impaired cricketers from across Asia with an opportunity to compete on an international platform.
