Professor Dr. Mohammad Hasanat Ali, Vice-Chancellor of Naogaon University, has stated that no junior student at the university will be subjected to ragging. The university administration will maintain a "zero-tolerance" policy regarding ragging; therefore, no form of ragging, even under the guise of "teaching manners", will be permitted.

He made these remarks on Sunday afternoon (November 8) during a ceremony marking the conclusion of the first-semester courses for students in the Departments of Law and Accounting at Naogaon University.

Addressing the issue, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Hasanat Ali said, "You may treat your juniors to ice cream or cake, and you are certainly welcome to build friendships with them. However, if anyone attempts to summon juniors under the cover of darkness to 'teach them manners,' I will be ready, and I will arrive on the scene immediately. For anyone who engages in such behavior, I will take every possible action, ranging from the revocation of their student status to pursuing legal proceedings in court."

Professor Dr. Mohammad Hasanat Ali added, "We aim to build a high-quality, model university, one that will serve as an example for institutions across the country, demonstrating that we have cultivated a hub for the brightest minds. We have a digital library here to support research. I also encourage my colleagues to continue their own research initiatives alongside their teaching; we will provide all the support necessary to facilitate this."

He further stated, "The people of Naogaon have placed their trust in us; our next task is to honor that trust. To achieve this, we must begin work by 2027 on land acquisition, site development, the construction of a boundary wall, and the development of the five unique buildings we have planned. Through you, I would like to appeal to the benevolent government, a government that has demonstrated its commitment to education by allocating the highest-ever budget for the sector in the 54-year history of Bangladesh, to expedite the approval of the Development Project Proforma (DPP) we have submitted. We hope that this government will grant us the opportunity to fulfill the dreams of the people of Naogaon by approving this project."
The professor stated, "I have full faith and confidence in the Honorable Prime Minister; whenever I meet her, she inquires about the university. Mir Shahe Alam, a syndicate member and a distinguished son of Bogura, also consistently follows up on the progress, emphasizing the need to develop Naogaon University into a high-quality institution. The University Grants Commission (UGC) often suggests to the ministry that they should visit Naogaon to observe the work being carried out there. Alhamdulillah, I am immensely grateful to the Almighty that we are gradually moving forward toward fulfilling the promises made to the people of Naogaon."

During the event, several individuals, including Dr. Mohammad Tarikul Islam, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Naogaon University; Maliha Khanum, Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) of Kahalu, Bogura; Sanjida Kabir, Lecturer in the Department of Accounting; Zahidul Islam Sourav, Lecturer in the Department of Law; and various students, shared their thoughts and reflections.
