A lecturer of Islamic History and Culture of Haripur Moslem Uddin Degree College in Thakurgaon is still in service despite being found in a departmental investigation to have joined the college with a fake certificate.
The allegation against Lecturer Md Sanaullah was proven some seven months ago.  Neither the college authority, nor the Education Ministry has yet taken any action against the teacher. Rather, the college authority is trying to regularise him in the college, which is supposed to be nationalised soon as per the Prime Minister's announcement, sources in the Education Ministry told the Daily Observer.
When contacted, Sanaullah told this correspondent that he is not aware about the allegation and the probe report. He inquired about this correspondent's location for communication.
College Principal Syedur Rahman told this correspondent that Assistant Inspector SM Munjurul Haque of the Department of Inspection and Audit under the Education Ministry had investigated the allegation last year against Lecturer Sanaullah.
During the investigation, Munjurul found him guilty of submitting a fake registration certificate of the Non-government Teachers Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA) before taking his job.
The NTRCA authority confirmed that his certificate was found fake. He used the certificate of another one by fraudulence, he added.
After getting the probe report, the college authority has forwarded it to the Ministry for further action. But, they have not yet taken any punitive measures against Sanaullah. The college authority has also not taken action against him, the Principal admitted.
A Ministry official told this correspondent preferring anonymity that they are working to take punitive measures against the teacher. But, some influential persons are trying to save him and his job by managing the higher authorities concerned. As a result, it's being delayed.
According to the record, Sanaullah joined the college as a teacher on October 12, 2011 by getting the appointment letter by hands a day before. The college authority issued the circular February 2 in the same year.
