BABISAS Award 2016 marking the 16th founding anniversary of BABISAS (Bangladesh Binodon Shangbadik Shamity) was held at Krishibid Institution Bangladesh, Farmgate in the capital on May 5. The award ceremony will be aired today at 5.15pm on ATN Bangla. Muslim Collection sponsored the event. Railway Minister Mujibul Haque inaugurated the event as Food Minister advocate Qamrul Islam was present as the chief guest. Abul Hossain, president of BABISAS chaired the event.
The lifetime achievement award for 2016 went to film actress Anwara and film actor Ilias Javed. Abdul Aziz of Jaaz Multimedia, Kamal Ahmed got best producer award jointly. G Sarkar got best director award. Chanchal Chowdhury, Kazi Maruf, Fazlur Rahman got awards for their acting. Moushumi Hamid, Pori Moni and a few others also got awards for acting. Best Singer award was grabbed by Kumar Biswajit, Samiya Jahan, Fakir Shahabuddin, SI Tutul, Belal Khan, Konal and more.
Special mention awards went to actors Nuton, Anjana, Rozina, Shucharita, M. Hamid and Falguni Hamid, Simon Tarik and Jesmin Akter Nodi.
