Paris agreement and Trumpian ‘econocracy’

American President Donald Trump has begun the process of pulling the United States (US) out of the Paris climate accord. Members of the Trump administration defence their position by saying that humans are responsible for climate change-this scientific finding is not 100 per cent certain. New administrator of the Environment Protection Agency (EPA) Mr Scott Pruitt said in an interview in March that "So, no, I would not agree that it's a primary contributor to the global warming that we see."
Trump administration, believes that economic growth and climate awareness cannot go hand in hand. Trump said, "This agreement is less about the climate and more about other countries gaining a financial advantage over the United States". It seems to me that Trump is indoctrinated by a set of wrong environmental economics, which I say Trumpian econocracy, where society's political goals are defined only in terms of their effect on the economy.
The historic 2015 Paris agreement signed by 195 countries and ratified by 147 countries aims to reduce carbon emissions and tackle global warming. Christiana Figueres, who served as Chief of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in between 2010 to 2016 called Donald Trump's decision as "a vacuous political melodrama." She also added that White House has no understanding of the legal underpinning of the Paris agreement. The process does give Mr Trump legal authority to withdraw but he is still required to follow the four year process in order to get out of the agreement.
 Trump said that he wanted to renegotiate the deal but France, Germany, and Italy have already issued a joint statement saying that they will not be a party to a renegotiation of any kind. The agreement is legally binding in 147 countries since they ratified it as a treaty. Russia is the only country in the top ten polluters in the world not to ratify or join the agreement, though they did sign it. The US now falls into the same category of Syria and Nicaragua, the only other two countries not in the Paris accord. However, Nicaragua did not join because they actually thought the agreement was not ambitious enough and does not punish countries who do not take necessary measures to combat global warming.
After famously calling climate change a "hoax" Trump proposed cutting the EPA budget by more than 30 per cent. EPA has recently removed some climate change related information and saying in a press release that language on the website is being updated to "reflect the approach of new leadership." Recently a study has been carried out by the US Geological Survey to establish any link between sea-level rise and global climate change.
But scientists, as reported by the Washington Post, had to ultimately delete a line from the report that read "Global climate change drives sea-level rise, increasing the frequency of coastal flooding." Instead the report states that, "The frequency and severity of coastal flooding throughout the world will increase rapidly and eventually double in frequency over the coming decades even with only moderate amounts of sea level rise." Cause of this phenomena remain absent in the published report. Is this good for science?
Fundamental science behind climate change is that emissions of greenhouse gases from burning fossil fuels lead to build-ups of carbon dioxide and methane in the atmosphere, which prevent heat from escaping into space. This leads to warming of planet earth. The process of warming is a slow one, but it gradually increase  global surface temperatures, which in turn raise sea levels because polar ice melts and water expands as it warms.
Emission of greenhouse gas also increases ocean acidification, as the ocean absorbs more carbon dioxide. Also more extreme precipitation events will probably lead to more flooding and more deaths. Analysis of 20th century data published by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) suggest that monthly global land and ocean temperature is higher than average temperature.
For each degree Celsius of global warming sea levels are predicted to rise by 2.3 meters. Trump need to think here that he has a number of properties that lie near the ocean. His resort in Palm Beach, Southern Florida is one of the places in the United States at the forefront of the threat of rising sea levels. By 2100 it could be mostly underwater.
There exists a real threat to health from global warming. Warmer temperatures mean more mosquito-borne diseases, for example, as warmer winter temperatures mean fewer mosquitoes die off. Climate change may worsen asthma. Higher temperatures mean more heat-related deaths, including from heatstroke and heat exhaustion.
American novelist Raymond Chandler said that the thriller writer Samuel Dashiell Hammett "gave murder back to the people who commit it." Trump gave politics back to the people who vote. Oborne and Roberts, in their book How Trump Thinks maintain that Trump achieved this in a number of new ways and the most significant of these was the reinvention of political communication through Twitter. But public perception data suggests that peoples are worried a great deal about climate change and also in comparison with natural cause human activity are considered more responsible for recent climate change.
The US economy has already begun to shift toward reduced emissions. The prices for solar panels are plunging, and the massive boom in natural gas switching away from coal.
George Orwell, in his essay, Politics and the English language wrote, "Political language is designed to make lies sound truthful." Trump said "I was elected to represent the citizens of Pittsburgh, not Paris" during his announcement pulling the US out of the Paris climate agreement. However, Pittsburgh retaliates and asked not to use their name as excuse for pulling out of Paris agreement. This is a kind of political language Trump off and on use to make thing sound truthful. Fact is that climate change is happening, whether one speak about it or not. One can't make something not real if one just doesn't talk about it. It doesn't change reality.
