Ershad reelected as AmCham President

Syed Ershad Ahmed, a respected business leader with over 35 years of experience, has been reelected as the President of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) Bangladesh.

Hes currently the Country Manager and Managing Director of Expeditors (Bangladesh) Ltd., a subsidiary of Expeditors International.

Ershad is the former President of the Foreign Investors Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FICCI). He served as an Executive Committee Member of the board of International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Bangladesh Chapter. He also performed the responsibility as the President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh from 2007 to 2009, 2019 to 2021, 2021 to 2023.

Eric M. Walker, President and Managing Director of Chevron Bangladesh, was elected as the Vice President of AmCham. Hes responsible for Chevrons partnership with the Government of Bangladesh to provide reliable energy. With extensive experience in various countries, including Azerbaijan, the United Kingdom, and the United States, Eric brings valuable insights to the role.

Al-Mamun M Rashel, Managing Director of NATco Bangladesh Operations, becomes treasurer of the AmCham. He joined the leadership team of chamber as the Executive Director. With a background in brand identification for apparel and footwear, he has played a key role in establishing manufacturing facilities in Bangladesh and has worked with international companies like Avery Dennison.

Together, they form a dynamic leadership team committed to fostering strong business ties between Bangladesh and the United States. Their diverse experiences and expertise will contribute to the growth and development of the business community in both countries. Additionally, Syed Ershad Ahmeds involvement in preserving the Armenian Church of Dhaka highlights his dedication to preserving cultural heritage alongside his business endeavors.
