Prime accused, 4 cohorts held in Jashore

JASHORE, Mar 12: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have arrested the main accused and his four associates from Bagherapara and Sharsha upazilas and Jashore town in connection with the killing of notorious terrorist Ramzan Ali .

The RAB members also recovered locally made arms, one-shooter guns, foreign pistols, magazines and bullets from their possession.

The arrestees are - Raja alias Picchi Raja, 25, son of Mojibor alias Jahangir, Ibadul, 25, son of Kuddus of Kharki area of Jashore town, Shawon, 22, son of Kana Babu of Chormara Dighirpar area of the town, Sumon alias Tatoo Sumon, 28, son of Kana Babu of Bejpara TV Clinic Mor area and Tuhin, 28, son of Kana Bashar of Railgate Kalabagan area of the town.
RAB-6 Jashore camp commander Major Mohammad Sakib Hossain disclosed these at a press briefing held at RAB-6 Jashore camp on Monday evening.

The RAB official said some criminals attacked Ramzan Ali, an accused in 32 cases, in front of his father-in-laws house in Railgate Kalabagan area under Kotwali Model Police Station of Jashore district at 9:30 pm on March 8.    —UNB
