National Film Award 2016 in chaos

The National Film Award has become controversial once again. This time it centers around a film of joint-production- "Niyoti." A choreographer of the film has been named as the recipient of the Best Dance Director's prize. Habib, has been named as the recipient for the year 2016. But Habib himself has claimed that he has not worked in the film which has been produced by Jaaz Multimedia of Bangladesh and Eskay Movies of India. Habib's name is even in the list of crew members in censors' board and jury board's register. However the director of the film Jakir Hossain Razu has asserted that Habib was not in the team. Rather it was an Indian, but to get a national Film Award a name of a local citizen is mandatory.
Habib claims that he is being pressurised to receive the prize. Many claim that it is Jaaz that is pursuing with Habib's name for the Best Dance Director's prize. He has even been offered a bribe. Jaaz would include him in every single one of their future productions if he only agrees to let his name stay in the jury board's list, claims Habib. But if he does this he would become a subject of farce. Though he like anyone else is eager for a National Film Award, getting an award for something he has not done would be insulting, Habib opines.
After his name was officially released in gazette he went on to state his complaints to the office of Jaaz Multimedia. He even asked them to withdraw his name from the list.
This news now having reached many in the film fraternity, Abdul Aziz of Jaaz Multimedia has thrown a different turn into the story. According to him Jaaz has never been a producer of Niyoti it merely oversaw marketing and promotional tasks, and some have cited Jaaz's name only to boost the image of the film, as Jaaz is a name worth reckoning. But everywhere in trailers, posters, press conferences even in Jaaz's official website Jaaz's name as the producer of Niyoti has been clearly evident. Information Ministry's deputy secretary for Film Department, Shahin Ara has said that if anyone files a formal complaint for removal of name then the name will be officially removed. Senior members of Bangaldesh's film fraternity held a press conference at FDC on April 21 protesting against such mishap. They claimed that Jaaz's name has been seen in everywhere of Niyoti's production.
