The release date of the first film on Misir Ali has been pushed back by a month. The film titled 'Debi' was scheduled to be released on September 7. But due to some post-production works the film will be released in mid-October. Now it has been revealed from the production company C-te-Cinema that the film will first be screened before the 'Government's donation committee'. Then it would be presented before the censors' board for screening and approval. Possibly this has prompted the delay for the release of the movie. The film has been produced by both C-te-Cinema and Government's Grant.
Meanwhile the first song of the film has been released. On the third day of Eid the song came out on YouTube as a gift for music lovers. This song named "Doyel Pakhi Konna Re" has been voiced by popular folk singer Momtaz. Talented musician Pritom Hasan has composed and arranged music for the song. It gives glimpses into the production works going behind-the-scenes, where Joya Ahsan is seen in a peculiar role, that of a producer. Her first production has been based on late playwright Humayun Ahmed's pivotal character Misir Ali.
C-te Cinema is the production house of Joya Ahsan. She will also be seen as 'Ranu' in the film. The first song is about the tradition of mischievous acts conducted in the event of turmeric ceremony before the wedding day. In this ceremony apart from putting turmeric paste on the wife to cater for good conjugal fortune participants throw clay, spices, colours at one-another as a show of fun.
Only some extracted visuals of this song will actually be included in the film. In the film Misir Ali has been played by Chanchal Chowdhury, Nilu by Shabnam Faria, Anis by Animesh Aich and Ahmed Sabet by Iresh Zaker.
