
Names of winners in this year's Channel i Music Award have been revealed. Yesterday the award giving ceremony was aired on Channel i. This year's lifetime achievement award went to Subir Nandi. This year a new feature was included. In this feature titled "Golden Voice Awards" six additional singers have been awarded in different categories. The award giving ceremony was held on the open space of The Palace Luxury Resort, Habiganj. Habiganj is the ancestral homeland of Subir Nandi. Receiving his award the singer said by honouring me in my very homeland the organisers have not only honoured me but all the people of Habiganj.
The award was handed over by Faridur Reza Sagar, managing director of Channel i; Shykh Seraj, News Director of Channel i; Khurshid Irfan Chowdhury, managing director of Transcom Beverage Ltd; Abdur Rashid Majumdar, chairman of Impress Group; musicians Azad Rahman and Md Khurshid Alam.
This year's new addition the "Golden Voice Award" has been planned to honour those who have enriched the music industry from their respective fields for more than two decades. Six awardees in this section are- Rezwana Choudhury Bannya for Tagore music, Ferdous Ara for Nazrul music, Momtaz for folk music, Samina Chowdhury for filmy music, Kumar Biswajit for modern music and Afzal Hossain as the golden maker.
In the regular sixteen categories Bithi Pandey won for Tagore music, Chanda Chakraborty for Nazrul music, Sagar Baul for folk music, Asif Iqbal for lyrics, Autumnal Moon for music direction, Aronno as best band, Roman Akter Iti as newcomer, Chirkutt for film music, Gazi Abdul Hakim for instrumental music etc.
