Battle of Traders
17 and 18 December, 2018 were the special days for the young entrepreneurs and traders of Eastern University. For the very first time Business and Social Entrepreneurship Club (BSEC) of the university organized Intra University Battle of Traders in the university premise, which was basically a trading competition within the students of different departments says a press release.
The event was inaugurated by the honorable Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shahid Akhtar Hossain. Welcome speech was given by the Registrar, Abul Basher Khan of the University. There were eleven stalls from different departments in the fair. Winter food, stationary items, handicrafts, ornaments, cosmetics, photography and gazettes were the main attraction of the event.
On the final day, young entrepreneurs and traders were handed over crests by the Chairman, Board of Trustees, Engr. Kh. Mesbah Uddin Ahmed upon the three categories- best decoration, best customer service and uniqueness of product or service. The event came to an end by expressing special thanks to Alegano Shoes BD for their generous support throughout the programme.  
Celebrated the Victory Day
Eastern University celebrated the Victory Day yesterday (Sunday) 16th December, paying rich tributes to the liberation war martyrs with a call for unity to build a country free from all kind of oppressions.
The two hour long event started from 12 pm at the Seminar Hall of Eastern University. Honorable Former Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University Professor Dr. A A M S Arefin Siddiq graced the session as the Chief Guest. The chairman of Board of Trustees of Eastern University Engr. Kh. Mesbahuddin Ahmed was special guest. Vice Chancellor Shahid Akhtar Hossain chaired the programme. 
Besides the guests; Eastern University Dean of the Arts Faculty Mr. Kashinath Roy and Registrar Abul Basher Khan also addressed the audience.
A Colorful cultural program was presented by the students in the second part of the event. Honorable chief guest and other guests enjoyed the program.

Folk Fest
With the goal to revive the folklore culture of Bangladesh, a Folk Fest was held at Eastern University. The Cultural Club (EUCC) of the university recently organized one of its signature events at the seminar Hall of the university.
Honorable Vice Chancellor of Eastern University Professor Dr. Shahid Akhtar Hossain graced the session as the Chief Guest whereas Nurjahan Alim, a prominent singer & also the daughter of legendary Singer Abdul Alim ornamented it as the Special Guest. With enormous responses from all around the campus; students, faculties and officials, the event turned out to be another successful milestone by EUCC.
Besides the guests, Eastern University Treasure A.S. Mahmud and Registrar Abul Basher Khan were present there. Nurjahan Alim and Director of the Office of Public Relations and Vocal of Nakshikatha Band Sajed Fatemi performed a duet song of Abdul Alim.
Each year, EUCC organizes many events to awake the many hidden talents within the students amid, teaching them to plan, organize, lead & control. The event was coordinated by the Coordinator of EUCC, Ms. Tasnuva Rahman, Assistant Professor, and Faculty of Business Administration.
