Shaheed Bir Uttam Lt. Anwar Girls College successfully concluded its 2-day inter-house annual sports event with an overwhelming display of enthusiasm, passion, stimulation, and spontaneous participation from the students at the college campus on Sunday.
A total of 400 students from the four houses of the college actively participated in nine competitive events during the spirited closing ceremony.
The much-anticipated closing ceremony commenced with the arrival of the highly esteemed Chief Guest, Major General Sheikh Mohammad Sarwar Hossain (SUP, ndc, psc), GOC and Area Commander, Logistics Area, Dhaka Cantonment.
The chairman and principal of SAGC warmly escorted and welcomed the Chief Guest.
The program kicked off with an impressive March Past by various departments of the college. Following the ceremonial march, students showcased their skills in Aerobics, Yoga, Fencing, Skipping, Self-defense, Taekwondo, Judo, Weightlifting and Race.
Major Sarwar, the Chief Guest, emphasized the importance of sports in his speech, expressing gratitude to everyone involved in making the event a success.
Special Guest Farhana Sarwar was then invited to felicitate the winners of the various competitions and distribute prizes to conclude the ceremony.
The event witnessed a demonstration of not only physical prowess but also the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie among the students.
It is noteworthy that on January 25th, Brigadier General Md Ahsan Habib (SUP, ndc, psc), Director, Military Operations Directorate, AHQ, Dhaka Cantonment and Chairman, Governing Body, SAGC, inaugurated the program. Jebin Anwar awarded prizes to the winners at the conclusion of the ceremony as the special guest.
