Tanore municipality mayor fined under RTI Act

The Information Commission Bangladesh on Thursday fined Md Imrul Haque, Mayor of Tanore Municipality, Rajshahi Tk 3,000 for not providing necessary information as per the Right to Information (RTI) Act.

Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) Dr Abdul Malek and Commissioners Shahidul Alam Jhinuk and Masuda Bhatti gave this order after hearing of the concerned parties.

A press release issued in this regard said in the hearing, it was proved that the mayor has created obstacles by not providing the information requested by the applicant under the RTI Act.

The Information Commission Bangladesh also disposed of six complaints on Thursday.
