IGP Abdullah Al Mamun's tenure extended by one year

The government has extended the tenure  of service of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun by one year.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification in this regard on Friday at the order of the President.

Abdullah Al Mamun's new tenure will begin on July 12, 2024, and will expire on July 11, 2025, or from his date of joining in continuation of his current contract, according to the notification.

Earlier, he got an extension of one and a half years as IGP from January 12, 2023 to July 11, 2024 after his tenure of service was expired on january 11, 2023.

Al Mamun took charge as IGP on September 30, 2022, by replacing Benazir Ahmed.
