Ansar wins Victory Day Handball opening match

Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) registered a 34-12 win in the opening match of the women's event of Victory Day Handball Competition 2024 at the Capt M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium, Paltan in Dhaka on Wednesday. 

Ansar and VDP has long been a powerhouse of local Handball. The paramilitary auxiliary force which is responsible for the preservation of internal security and law enforcement is also a trustworthy force in the sporting arena of Bangladesh. 

The Victory Day Handball Competition 2024 had begun in the evening on the day. Like the previous days, the paramilitary wing of Bangladesh defence forces presented the fans a worthy match on the day. The Ansar and VDP team defeated the VAS Sports Club by 34-12 and the winning team led 20-08 in the first half. 

Asaduzzaman Kohinoor, the General Secretary of Bangladesh Handball Federation (BHF), M Jahangir Hossain, Treasurer and Secretary of the Organizing Committee of BHF, and other officials of the federation were present in the opening programme.
