Rangpur Riders have won their first match of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) by 40-run over Dhaka Capitals.
Khushdil Shah’s all-round performance and Mahedi Hasan’s four wickets helped Rangpur Riders seal the victory in the second match of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Monday.
Rangpur restricted Dhaka to 151/9 while Dhaka capitals were chasing 192.
All-rounder Mahedi flexed his wicket-taking ability on the day picking four wickets for 27 runs in his four overs.
Dhaka’s Tanzid Hasan Tamim and Liton Kumer Das had a steady start to the chase and looked to go all the way but Mahedi showed his magic in the eighth over by sending Tanzid back to the pavilion for 30. Habibur Rahman Sohan came in, hit a six in the first ball, tried to hit another one in the next delivery only to be dismissed in the same over.
Dhaka were completely out of the game and managed to score 151 losing nine wickets eventually.
Earlier, after being asked to bat first, Rangpur Riders posted a mammoth total of 191/6 in their 20 overs.
