Professor Jamal Uddin has been appointed as the new chairman of Accounting and Information Systems (AIS) Department at Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia.
The official announcement was made through a notice signed by acting registrar HM Ali Hasan.
The appointment follows the conclusion of Professor Dr. Zakir Hossain's tenure as chairman.
A formal "Chairmanship Handover Ceremony" was held at 12:00 PM in the department’s teacher’s conference room within the Business Administration Faculty building. Attendees included BBA Faculty Dean Professor Dr. Shelina Nasrin, former IUTA President Professor Dr. Mizanoor Rahman, former Faculty Dean Professor Saiful Islam, and several senior faculty members, including Professor Dr. Abu Sina, Professor Dr. Kazi Akhtar Hossain, Professor Dr. Arabinda Saha, and Professor Dr. Ali Noor Rahman.
In his speech, the newly appointed chairman, Professor Jamal Uddin, expressed his gratitude and enthusiasm for taking on the responsibility. "I feel proud to take this responsibility. I intend to continue the momentum set by previous chairmen and will take all necessary initiatives for the welfare of the students," he stated.
Outgoing chairman Professor Dr. Zakir Hossain reflected on his tenure, saying, "I have done my duty to the best of my ability, and I received great support from everyone in the department. I extend my congratulations to the new chairman."
The office order specifies that Professor Jamal Uddin will serve as chairman for a three-year term.
