DITF key to boosting local products, exports: CA

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus on Wednesday described that Dhaka International Trade Fair as a crucial platform for promoting locally made products and expanding Bangladesh’s export base.

He also urged all participating countries and institutions to work together through cooperation and partnership.

In a message marking the opening of 30th Dhaka International Trade Fair 2026, Professor Yunus said the interim government remains firmly committed to maintaining economic stability while accelerating sustainable growth. 

He noted that the fair highlights Bangladesh’s growing capabilities and potential in the global marketplace.

The chief adviser extended greetings and congratulations to all participants, including local and foreign entrepreneurs, investors, traders and buyers, acknowledging their role in making the event successful.

He said the DITF plays an important role not only in showcasing domestic products but also in helping local entrepreneurs and consumers gain insight into the quality, design and global trends of foreign goods. 

According to him, this exchange of ideas and exposure contributes to improving competitiveness and innovation within the local industry.

Organised over a month-long period, the fair has consistently served as an effective venue for presenting high-quality Bangladeshi products to domestic and international visitors, buyers and importers. 

Professor Yunus said the event has become an important tool for expanding economic activity, creating employment opportunities and strengthening the country’s export sector.

He expressed optimism that the trade fair would further contribute to national development by encouraging product diversification, promoting local industries and attracting foreign investment.

Wishing the Dhaka International Trade Fair 2026 every success, the chief adviser said he expects it to emerge as a vibrant, buyer-friendly and festive event through the active and meaningful participation of all stakeholders.
