Govt extends term of 6 reform commissions

This extension was announced through six separate notifications issued by the Cabinet Division on Monday (January 20). 

The commissions whose terms have been extended include: Election System Reform Commission, Police Administration Reform Commission, Judiciary Reform Commission, Anti-Corruption Reform Commission, Public Administration Reform Commission, Constitution Reform Commission.

The interim government, which came to power following the July popular uprising, established a total of 11 commissions to propose reforms in various sectors of the state. Of these, the first six commissions were formed on October 3. 

Subsequently, five more commissions were established in November, focusing on health, media, labor rights, women's issues, and local government reforms.
