Tamim, Shakib to face off in Legends 90 League

Former Bangladesh cricket team captain Tamim Iqbal is set to participate in the upcoming Legends Ninety Cricket League, marking a reunion with his long-time teammate and counterpart Shakib Al Hasan. 

Despite their storied history and well-documented strained relationship, the two cricket icons will compete in the league featuring retired international players.  

Tamim, who recently retired from international cricket during the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), will represent the Big Boys Unikari team in the tournament. Scheduled to take place in Raipur, India, in February, the league offers fans a chance to see their favorite stars in action once more.  

Shakib Al Hasan, meanwhile, has signed with the Dubai Giants, setting the stage for a much-anticipated showdown between the two former teammates in the seven-team competition.  

While Tamim and Shakib remain two of Bangladesh cricket's greatest contributors, their personal relationship has been the subject of intense media scrutiny. The tension between them became especially apparent ahead of the 2023 Cricket World Cup, when their rift was publicly acknowledged by cricket officials.  

The duo last faced each other in the 2024 BPL, where they avoided interaction during the match, further fueling speculation about their strained ties.  

The Legends Ninety Cricket League will now bring them together once again, giving fans an opportunity to see two of Bangladesh�s greatest cricketing figures on opposite sides of the field. The event promises high-intensity cricket and the potential for new stories in their ongoing saga.
