India U19 Womens team secured a dominant 8-wicket victory over Bangladesh, eliminating them from the ICC U-19 Womens T20 World Cup in Kuala Lumpur.
Bangladesh, batting first, struggled to find momentum and posted a modest total of 64/8 in 20 overs. Captain Sumaiya Akter stood out with an unbeaten 21 runs, but her efforts were not enough to anchor the team. Indias Vaishnavi Sharma was the standout bowler, taking 3 wickets for just 15 runs, while Shabnam chipped in with 1/7.
In response, India chased the target effortlessly, reaching 66/2 in just 12.5 overs. Trisha Gongadi delivered a match-winning performance, scoring an unbeaten 40 off 31 balls to lead her side to victory. Although Bangladesh's Anisa Akter and Habiba Akter managed to claim one wicket each, the target proved too small to defend.
The win confirmed Indias spot in the semifinals, while Bangladeshs hopes in the tournament came to an end with this defeat.
