Malan urges financial responsibility in BPL, proposes no Funds, no play

In the aftermath of Fortune Barishal's five-wicket victory over Khulna Tigers, in which Malan was named Player of the Match for his blistering 63 off 37 balls, the 37-year-old addressed the payment crisis within the league. He expressed gratitude that his team had not encountered similar issues, praising Barishal's management for ensuring everything was in order.

�I can only comment on my team. Our franchise has been fantastic. Wherever you play, you want the basics to be right. Our job is to play, and it�s someone else�s job to ensure we�re paid. That�s why we play in these leagues,� Malan stated during the post-match press conference.

On the broader financial issues plaguing the league, Malan proposed a simple solution: �I hope this doesn�t happen again. It�s very easy to control. If you have the money, you take a team. If you don�t, you don�t. It�s as simple as that. So far, we�ve had no issues, and I hope it stays that way.�

Australian batter William Bosisto of Khulna Tigers, who also participated in the press conference, echoed Malan�s thoughts. While Bosisto praised his own franchise for honoring contracts, he expressed disappointment about the issues facing other teams. 

�So far, I�ve received everything as per my contract. I�ve heard about problems in other teams, and it�s definitely disappointing. As players, our job is to perform and give our best. It�s the owner�s responsibility to honor the agreements. Unfortunately, that�s not happening everywhere, but Khulna has been fantastic,� Bosisto said.

Malan and Bosisto�s remarks shed light on the growing frustrations within the league, where payment issues are starting to overshadow the performances on the field. The BPL now faces the challenge of ensuring that all teams operate with the financial stability required to maintain a competitive and fair tournament.
