Operation Devil Hunt: Former Habiganj-2 MP arrested in city

The former Member of Parliament from Habiganj-2 constituency, Abdul Majid Khan, has been arrested from the capital's Farmgate area.

He was detained by a team of Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Police on the night of Monday.

The confirmation of the arrest came from Rezaul Mallick, Additional Commissioner (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).

Mallick stated that Abdul Majid Khan faces multiple cases related to incidents of casualties during the anti-discrimination student movement. He was arrested in connection with a case in Habiganj, and legal proceedings are underway.

Abdul Majid Khan was elected as a Member of Parliament in 2008, 2014, and 2018, representing the Boat symbol. He has also served as the Organizational Secretary and General Secretary of the district's Awami League for an extended period.
