No job quota for July martyrs’ families: Adviser Nahid

Information and Broadcasting Adviser Nahid Islam has confirmed that jobs for family members of the July martyrs will not be allocated under any quota system.

In a statement on his verified Facebook page, he clarified that no competitive recruitment test will follow a special quota for them.  

"The government has announced one-time financial assistance, monthly allowances, and employment opportunities for family members of the July martyrs. However, this will not be introduced as a new quota in the job sector," Nahid wrote.  

According to his statement, one eligible member from each martyr's family will be offered a job in a government, semi-government, or private organization based on their qualifications. However, this opportunity will not be linked to any competitive exams.  

For individuals who suffered permanent disabilities during the uprising- such as blindness or the loss of limbs- monthly allowances have been arranged. Those who can no longer work due to their injuries will receive long-term support.  

"A large number of the injured are young and will bear the scars of the movement for the rest of their lives. Many require extended medical treatment," Nahid said, emphasizing the state's responsibility to rehabilitate the affected families and ensure their future.  

He noted that thousands of families have faced hardships due to their participation in the July uprising. While the government cannot fully compensate for their sacrifices, these families seek respect and dignity rather than material benefits.
