Barapukuria power plant's 3rd unit resumes operation after 12-day

The third unit of Barapukuria coal-based thermal power station in Dinajpur's Parbatipur upazila  resumed its power generation after 12-day suspension.

The unit, with a capacity of 275-megawatt (MW) power, started producing power generation around 10PM on Friday (February 28).

At that time, around 190 megawatt of electricity added to the national grid.

Chief engineer of the power station of Parbatipur upazila Md Abu Bakar Siddique confirmed the matter.

He said that after starting the third unit, around 180 to 200 megawatt of electricity is being generated every day.

The third unit of the Barapukuria thermal power station was shut down on February 17 due to technical problem.
