Heat may rise during Ramadan, possibility of nor'westers

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has predicted a gradual increase in both day and night temperatures across the country throughout March during Ramadan. 

Temperatures are expected to remain above normal, with occasional Nor'wester (Kalbaishakhi) storms in some areas.  

Towards the end of the month, one or two mild (36-38°C) to moderate (38-40°C) heatwaves may sweep over the western and southwestern regions of the country.  

According to a  long-term weather forecast for March, signed by BMD Director Md. Mominul Islam on Sunday, there is no likelihood of cyclones or low-pressure formations in the Bay of Bengal this month. However, the country may experience light to moderate thunderstorms with hail on two to three days, and one day of severe Nor'wester storms is also anticipated.
