The Virtue of Ramadan: Day 4

The holy month of Ramadan consists of 30 days of fasting, and each day carries its own unique virtue. For the readers, we are sharing the significance of each day’s fasting. According to Islamic teachings, the 4th fast of Ramadan is highly rewarding, as Allah bestows upon the fasting person the equivalent reward of all four major divine books.  

The first ten days of Ramadan are known as the "Decade of Mercy", during which believers should seek Allah’s boundless mercy. It is said that no servant can attain salvation without Allah’s mercy, and He Himself has forbidden His servants from losing hope in it. Thus, during this period, Muslims should earnestly seek His mercy.  

According to a narration from Ibn Abbas (RA), on the 4th day of Ramadan, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to recite a special supplication (du’a). This du’a is mentioned in the Islamic books "Al-Baladul Amin" and "Misbahul Kaf’ami".  

Dua for the 4th Day of Ramadan  

Arabic:
 
اَللّـهُمَّ قَوِّنی فیهِ عَلى اِقامَةِ اَمْرِکَ، وَاَذِقْنی فیهِ حَلاوَةَ ذِکْرِکَ، وَاَوْزِعْنی فیهِ لاَِداءِ شُکْرِکَ بِکَرَمِکَ، وَاحْفَظْنی فیهِ بِحِفْظِکَ وَسَتْرِکَ، یا اَبْصَرَ النّاظِرینَ  

Transliteration:  

Allahumma qawwini fihi 'ala iqamati amrik, wa adhikni fihi halawata dhikrik, wa awzi'ni fihi li'ada'i shukrik bika karamika, wahfazni fihi bihifzika wa sattrik, ya absaran-nazirin.  

Meaning:  

O Allah! On this day, grant me the strength to uphold Your commandments. Allow me to taste the sweetness of remembering You. Prepare me, through Your infinite generosity, to be grateful for Your blessings. O the Best of all who see, protect me today under Your divine shelter and care.  

May Allah accept the fasts and prayers of all believers and grant them His mercy and blessings during this holy month.
