The newly appointed Education Advisor, Professor Dr. Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar, expressed his vision for an education system where students can envision their future within the country and lead the world from Bangladesh.

He stated, "I dream of an education system where our students can see their future within the country and lead the world from Bangladesh. This may not happen in a day, a year, or even five years, but the foundation has already been laid, and many initiatives have been taken."

Dr. Abrar made these remarks to journalists on Wednesday afternoon after assuming office at the Ministry of Education.

He took his oath and immediately began his duties at the ministry. He was welcomed by the outgoing advisor, Professor Dr. Wahiduddin Mahmud, who is now the advisor for the Ministry of Planning. Senior Secretary of the Secondary and Higher Education Division, Siddiq Zubair, and Secretary of the Technical and Madrasa Education Division, Dr. K.M. Kabirul Islam, were also present.

The advisor noted that significant changes have taken place in the country. "We never thought we would be able to speak so freely in our lifetime. The Chief Advisor has given me a great responsibility, and it is a big challenge. Education is a vast field. We have all grown up with public money, so we have a responsibility to the people."

Dr. Abrar, who never imagined he would hold such a position, emphasized, "I believe education is the most important vehicle for building an equitable society. I envision an education system that equips individuals with skills, fosters personal development, supports socio-economic progress, promotes excellence in science and technology, and cultivates values for establishing social justice."

Earlier in the day, C.R. Abrar, a former professor of the International Relations Department at Dhaka University, was sworn in as a new advisor to the interim government. President Md. Sahabuddin administered the oath at Bangabhaban at 11:00 AM. Cabinet Secretary Md. Sheikh Abdur Rashid conducted the swearing-in ceremony. With the addition of Dr. Abrar, the total number of advisors in the interim government, including the Chief Advisor, now stands at 23.

Following the oath, a notification was issued assigning Dr. Abrar to the Ministry of Education. Professor Dr. Wahiduddin Mahmud, who had been serving as the advisor for both the Ministry of Planning and the Ministry of Education, will now focus solely on the Ministry of Planning.
