CUET celebrates 'International Mathematics Day'

CUET Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr. Mahmud Abdul Matin Bhuiyan was the chief guest of the ceremony with Prof. Dr. Mohammad Shah Alam, Mathematics department Chairman, was  in the chair.

VC Prof Dr Mahmud Abdul Matin Bhuiyan said that mathematics is called the language of science.

''The use of science and technology is essential to build one's life and the country as well. Because of mathematics, technology has been able to advance so far today. Today we can know the past history of the universe with help of mathematics,'' added the VC.

He further mentioned that the fear of mathematics should be removed from the mind of students.

Chaiti Devi Piya, an MSc student of Mathematics  department, won the best poster award in the program.  In Pi Day Quiz competition, Nahid Hasan of CSE department secured first place, Abrar Ahnaf Karim of EEE department gained second place and Palash Chandra Dev of Mechanical Engineering department confirmed third place.

VC Prof Dr Mahmud Abdul Matin Bhuiyan presented the award after discussion program among the winners of poster and quiz competition.
