The holy month of Ramadan is a time of immense spiritual significance, with each of its 30 days carrying unique virtues and blessings. Today, we explore the virtues of the 15th day of Ramadan and the special supplication associated with it.

According to Islamic teachings, the 15th day of Ramadan holds great merit. A hadith states, "All the angels pray for those who observe the fast." This highlights the divine favor and intercession that accompanies the act of fasting during this sacred month.

A supplication recommended for the 15th day of Ramadan, as narrated by Ibn Abbas (RA) and found in the books Al-Baladul Amin and Misbahul Kaf'ami, is as follows:

Dua for the 15th Day of Ramadan:

اَللّـهُمَّ ارْزُقْنی فیهِ طاعَةَ الْخاشِعینَ، وَاشْرَحْ فیهِ صَدْری بِاِنابَةِ الُْمخْبِتینَ، بِاَمانِکَ یا اَمانَ الْخائِفینَ.

Translation:

"O Allah! On this day, grant me the ability to obey You like the humble servants. Through Your protection and guardianship, expand my heart and make it like the hearts of the God-fearing and humble servants. O Protector of the fearful and pious."

This prayer emphasizes seeking humility, obedience, and a heart filled with God-consciousness, which are central to the spirit of Ramadan.

Additionally, the virtues of Ramadan are further highlighted in a hadith narrated by Abu Huraira (RA), where the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said, "When the first night of Ramadan arrives, the devils and rebellious jinn are chained, the gates of Hell are closed, and none of its doors remain open. The gates of Paradise are opened, and none of its doors remain closed."

Another hadith, narrated by Abdullah ibn Umar (RA), describes the preparation of Paradise for Ramadan. The Prophet (SAW) said, "Paradise is adorned from the beginning of the year until the next year for Ramadan. When the first day of Ramadan arrives, a special breeze flows from beneath the Throne, causing the leaves of the trees in Paradise to rustle. The houris (dwellers of Paradise) then say, 'O Lord! Appoint for us from among Your servants those who will delight our eyes, and whose eyes we will delight.'"

These narrations underscore the profound spiritual atmosphere of Ramadan, where the gates of mercy are wide open, and believers are encouraged to seek forgiveness, engage in worship, and draw closer to Allah. The 15th day, in particular, serves as a reminder to renew one's commitment to humility, obedience, and devotion, seeking Allah's blessings and protection throughout the holy month.
