Govt appoints 34 assistant attorney generals

The government has appointed 34 Supreme Court lawyers as new assistant attorney generals of Bangladesh. 

The appointments were made through two separate gazette notifications issued by the Solicitor Wing of the Law and Justice Division on March 17.  

The newly appointed assistant attorney generals are- Md Arifir Rahman, Khorshed Alam, Md Golam Razib, Md Nurul Huda, Md Al Amin, Sanzida Rahman, Asma Hossain, Md Saidur Rahman (Jaton), Faruk Ahmed, Papiya Sultana, Md Sarwar Alam Chowdhury, Md Fuad Hasan, Mustafizur Rahman, Mahbuba Taslim Akhi, Mohammad Moniruzzaman, Abdur Rahim, Abu Sadat Md Sayem Bhuiyan, Mohammad Delwar Hossain, Biswanath Karmakar, Mohammad Iqbal Hossain Sheikh, Mousumi Akter, Md Raihan Alam, Md Touhidul Islam, Md Mizanur Rahman, Sabina Yasmin Nira, Ashraful Alam, Omar Faruk, Shamsul Islam Mukul, Abul Khayer Khan, Rashedul Hasan Sumon, Qazi Kamrunnesa, Md Qaium, KM Rezaul Feroz (Rintu) and Md Mizanur Rahman.

The notifications, signed by Solicitor (Acting) Sana Md Mahruf Hossain, stated that the appointments were made under Article 3(1) of The Bangladesh Law Officers Order, 1972 (P.O. No. 6 of 1972). The orders take immediate effect.  

This move aims to strengthen the legal framework and enhance the efficiency of the Attorney General’s Office in representing the government in various legal matters.
