Banks in RMG hubs to operate on March 28-29 for Eid transactions

Bangladesh Bank has instructed scheduled banks to remain open on March 28 and 29 in key readymade garment (RMG) industrial zones to facilitate timely salary disbursement and Eid bonuses for garment workers.  

According to a circular issued today, branches in Dhaka, Ashulia, Tongi, Gazipur, Savar, Bhaluka, Narayanganj, and Chattogram will operate during these two days to support wage payments, allowances, and export-import transactions ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.  

To accommodate banking needs, customers can access services between 10 AM and 12 PM on March 28 and from 10 AM to 1 PM on March 29. However, banks will remain operational internally until 3 PM on March 28 and 2 PM on March 29.  

The central bank has also emphasized the importance of security measures to ensure smooth operations in these industrial areas.
