Pori Moni responds to allegations of assaulting domestic worker

Popular Dhallywood actress Pori Moni has responded to allegations that she assaulted her domestic worker, Pinky Akhter, over a dispute regarding feeding her one-year-old child. The actress has outright denied the accusations, claiming that Pinky was never her household staff but rather someone who sought work under false pretenses.  

Speaking to the media on Friday, Pori Moni asserted that Pinky was incapable of performing household chores and was dismissed after a month with full salary, bonuses, and additional gifts. She also suggested that Pinky might be a spy sent to blackmail her.  

"The girl came asking for a job, crying and pleading. She said she had no one, was struggling to survive with her child, and requested to stay for at least a month. I felt pity for her," said the actress. "However, she had physical limitations and was unable to do any work. I told her she didn't need to work; she could just play with my child."  

Pori Moni alleged that Pinky repeatedly asked for money under various pretexts. "She kept making excuses and constantly demanded money. I thought since she was already here, she could stay for a month. But when I asked her to leave, she started crying again. I still gave her a full month's salary of 20,000 BDT, Eid bonuses, gifts, and new clothes before letting her go. Despite all that, she has now started blackmailing me," she claimed.  

Regarding the accusations of physical assault, Pori Moni defended herself, saying, "My household relies on my staff. I treat them with utmost respect, addressing them as 'Aunty' or 'Sir.' I have lived in Dhaka for years, and no complaints have ever been made against me by any of my workers. It's suspicious that someone who was here for just a few days is now making such claims."  

The actress further suggested that Pinky might be part of a larger conspiracy against her. "She appeared helpless but is actually very smart. Someone must be behind her actions. We need to investigate who sent her to my house, who she was talking to on the phone, and who she was sending photos to. The truth will come out once this is thoroughly investigated," she added.  

The allegations and Pori Moni’s response have sparked widespread discussion, with many awaiting further developments in the case.
