Fire breaks out at Purana Paltan high-rise

A fire broke out on the top floor of a multi-storey building in Dhaka’s Purana Paltan area on Saturday night, prompting an emergency response from the Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD).

According to FSCD officials, the blaze started around 8:25 PM. 

The first firefighting unit arrived at the scene at 8:32 PM, said Anwarul Islam, warehouse inspector at FSCD headquarters and spokesperson for its media cell.

A total of seven FSCD units are currently engaged in efforts to bring the fire under control. As of the latest update, no casualties have been reported.

The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time, and further details are expected as the situation develops.
