Sonali Bank launches its own payment switch

State-owned Sonali Bank has implemented its own payment switch to provide customers with fast, secure and uninterrupted card transactions. As a result debit, credit, prepaid or virtual card transactions will be more reliable.

It will be now possible to provide this service independently without the cooperation of a third party. In addition, by launching its own payment switch, transaction information will be more secure. 

Moreover, it will save cost of the bank and the customer and will be able to issue and process cards in less time under its own management, press release said. 

Sonali Bank's card usage fees are affordable compared to other banks in the country. Currently, it  has about 1.4 million debit card and credit card customers. Until now, these services were handled by third parties for customers. 

It took more time and cost to provide bank card services. Now, by launching its own payment switch, time and cost will reduce and the bank will be able to provide card services to customers in less time.

In this regard, Sonali Bank PLC's Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Md. Shawkat Ali Khan said, 'We have recently implemented our own payment switch. As a result, our customers will easily get very fast and secure card services. This payment switch will bring a revolutionary change in customer service.'

Md. Shawkat Ali Khan also said digitalization makes the banking sector more advanced, secure, sustainable and competitive. Therefore, a customer-friendly digital payment system has been launched, so that customers can make fast transactions through debit, credit cards and Bangla QR codes. 

Apart from that, customer can be given a card in the fastest time according to his needs. The notification further said ATM booths have been increased across the country to provide 24-hour service to customers.
