Politicians rage against Israeli strikes on Iran

A storm of condemnation swept across Bangladesh's political landscape as leaders from both leftist and Islamic parties blasted Israel's airstrikes on Iran and its unrelenting assault on Palestine. In fiery statements, politicians branded Israel a rogue aggressor, accused the West of complicity, and demanded urgent global intervention to stop what they termed as state-engineered genocide and imperialist warfare.

BNP Vice-chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu told to the Daily Observer that, "BNP always against the war and supports peace. Israel repeatedly violates the peace process in Middle East by invading different countries. They are killing innocent people by ignoring United Nation." 

"At this moment we urged the United Nation to take proper initiative to stop such War and save humanity," he added.    
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has strongly condemned the recent Israeli airstrikes in Iran that reportedly killed several high-ranking Iranian officials, including the head of the Revolutionary Guards and several prominent nuclear scientists. The party also expressed deep condolences for the deceased.

In a statement of mourning issued on Saturday, June 13, Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Professor Mia Golam Porwar voiced his outrage at what he described as a "barbaric attack" by Israel.

According to the statement, the Israeli air force carried out intense airstrikes around 4:00 a.m. local time targeting several critical sites in and around Tehran, including nuclear and military installations as well as ballistic missile factories.

Among those reported killed were Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Hossein Salami, Chief of the Armed Forces Mohammad Bagheri, Commander of Khatam-al Anbiya Central Headquarters Gholam Ali Rashid, and nuclear scientists Fereydoon Abbasi, Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi, Abdul Hamid Minouchehr, Ahmad Reza Zolfaghari, Sayyed Amir Hossein Faqih, and Motlabizadeh. Also among the dead was Shamkhani, a top advisor to Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

"I strongly condemn this brutal aggression by war-mongering Israel and express my deepest sorrow for those who have lost their lives in this heinous attack," said Professor Porwar.

He also prayed for the forgiveness of the deceased and asked Almighty Allah to accept them as martyrs. "May Allah accept their righteous deeds and grant them the highest ranks in Paradise. We also pray for strength and patience for their bereaved families and comrades."

Jamaat-e-Islami expressed hope that the Iranian government and people would soon recover from the devastating loss and national tragedy.

Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) General Secretary and chief coordinator of the Left Democratic Alliance, Sardar Ruhin Hossain Prince, tore into the Israeli regime and its Western backers:
"We have a clear voice against such attacks. It's happening under the direct supervision of the USA, which has been nurturing chaos in the Middle East to destroy Palestine and enforce American hegemony. They have been protecting Israeli war-madness and creating unrest in the region."

He urged progressive forces across the world to rise in resistance, warning that silence and inaction would embolden this imperialist alliance further.

From a different ideological front, Charmonai Pir and Islamic Movement of Bangladesh Ameer Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim echoed the fury, branding Israel "an illegal state" and "a grave threat to human civilization." He thundered:
"Since 1948, Israel has committed one after another crime against humanity. For the past one and a half years, they have been carrying out brutal genocide in Palestine, with the West including the U.S. openly supporting it. The world's failure to resist has brought disgrace."

"The UN, the Arab League and the OIC have become meaningless, irrelevant bodies. Arab rulers have lost their moral legitimacy by blindly obeying Western interests. I urge the conscious citizens of Europe and America - rise against this genocide. Otherwise, history will judge you as accomplices."

Saiful Haque, General Secretary of the Revolutionary Workers Party, minced no words in a strongly worded condemnation, demanding that Israel be officially branded an international terrorist state.

"Israel has been built as the main military outpost of the Americans in this region of Asia. With full U.S. support, they are committing reckless terrorist activities and war crimes."

"The recent missile and drone attacks on Iran's nuclear and military infrastructure are a terrible act of state terrorism - a manifestation of Israel's ultimate arrogant crime. These acts will destabilize the entire Middle East, and the world must intervene now to stop the attack on Iran and the ongoing genocide in Gaza."

Senior Nayeb Ameer Maulana Yusuf Ashraf and Secretary General Maulana Jalaluddin Ahmed of Jamaat-e-Islami issued a blistering joint statement, calling Israel's actions:
"A gross violation of international law and human rights. Innocent people are being targeted through relentless warplanes, drones, and missile strikes. Gaza has turned into an open cemetery. No food, no water, no medicine - only fire, gunpowder smoke, and death."

"Netanyahu's declaration to continue the war is a declaration of destruction and a terrible threat to world peace. The Muslim world must rise above sectarian differences and present a united front. Iran's counterattack was not aggression - it was just resistance against continuous oppression."

Meanwhile, Ganosamhati Andolan Chief Coordinator Zonayed Saki issued a reasoned yet urgent appeal for diplomacy over warfare.

"It is wise to sit in dialogue instead of going towards a war. The prevailing inhuman conditions, especially the killing of children and women, are despicable. No peace-loving person can support this.

Global leadership must prioritize humanity and justice - peace must be pursued as both a moral duty and strategic necessity."

As the region teeters on the edge of wider conflict, Bangladesh's political voices - divided by ideology, united in outrage - are calling on the world to act before it's too late.
