Will work in the nation's interest: NBR chairman

Chairman of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) Md Abdur Rahman Khan has called upon the officials of the organisation to forget everything.

"We all will work in the nation's interest."

Abdur Rahman made this comment during a discussion with reporters at his office at the NBR Headquarters on Monday. 

"Revenue collection of more than Tk3.6 lakh crore has been achieved till this morning. We will receive the report of today's treasury deposits tomorrow. Besides, there are tax and VAT bills from government projects that take some time to reconcile." 

The NBR chairman added, "Some more revenue will be added in the coming days. It will take two to three weeks to obtain the final figures. However, we are certain that there will be growth compared to last year."

He stated that the current revenue reporting system is automated and no longer manual.
