A Dhaka court has granted police remand for two accused of brutally killing a trader by striking him with a stone in broad daylight in Old Dhaka.

On Friday, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Jewel Rana approved a five-day remand for Mahmudul Hasan Mohin in the murder case of scrap trader Md Sohag, 43, and a two-day remand for Tarek Rahman Robin in a separate weapons case, said Kotwali police court officer SI Tanvir.

Police reported that two cases—one for murder and another under arms charges—were filed at Kotwali Police Station following the incident.

Mohin is being interrogated in the murder case, while Robin faces questioning related to the weapons charge.

The attack took place on Wednesday around 6 PM on Rajani Ghosh Lane near Gate 3 of Mitford Hospital. Shortly after the incident, police arrested Mohin and Robin.
